Location: Austin, Dallas, Morristown, or San Jose, United States. The role is associated with onsite employees; the Morristown and San Francisco Bay Area compensation range is provided.
Salary: $124,000β$186,000 annual base pay.

What you will do
- Define and own the multi-year strategy and vision for the underwriting platform, including the rules engine, risk and underwriting models, and AI-powered workflows.
- Modernize and scale underwriting infrastructure to improve loss ratio, underwriting accuracy, efficiency, and speed to market.
- Own the full product lifecycle from discovery and prioritization through delivery and post-launch performance.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial, and Underwriting.
- Translate complex business and risk requirements into PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive measurable outcomes across loss ratio, underwriter efficiency, model accuracy, and automation rates.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a product backlog and end-to-end software development lifecycle delivery with a team of at least four engineers.
- Experience building or working with risk platforms, rules engines, machine learning models, or decision automation systems.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical requirements and connect engineering work to business goals.
- Experience improving risk and efficiency metrics at meaningful scale, such as loss ratio, case handling time, or automation rates.
- Strong product strategy, execution, analytical, stakeholder management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Product management experience in insurance, financial services, or an adjacent industry.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI and agentic workflow platforms, including scoping, evaluating, and deploying AI in production underwriting or operational contexts.
