Revenue Accounting Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA; three full days per week in the San Francisco office, with the remaining days worked remotely and sufficient overlap with the relevant team’s time zone.

What you will do

• Own monthly revenue close and revenue recognition for consumption- and credit-based revenue, including grants, usage, breakage, unused balances, refunds, and chargebacks.
• Maintain ASC 606 policies and assess complex commercial arrangements, performance obligations, variable consideration, material rights, and principal-versus-agent conclusions.
• Lead the complete order-to-cash lifecycle across self-serve and enterprise models, including billing, invoicing, cash application, collections, disputes, and reporting.
• Build scalable workflows, controls, reconciliations, and segregation-of-duties processes while reducing manual spreadsheet work.
• Manage revenue automation and payment reconciliation across HubiFi and Stripe, including transaction activity, fees, settlements, payouts, and cash received.
• Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Data on usage-data quality, audit readiness, close optimization, reporting, and external-audit support.

Requirements

• 6+ years of accounting experience with substantial revenue accounting experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of ASC 606 and complex revenue judgments.
• Experience owning revenue accounting in a high-volume usage-based, consumption-based, credit-based, or scaled subscription environment.
• Experience owning order-to-cash operations, billing, accounts receivable, collections, reconciliations, and controls.
• Experience with payment platforms and reconciliation of transaction activity, fees, settlements, and payouts; Stripe experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with revenue automation or subscription billing systems such as HubiFi, Zuora, NetSuite ARM, RevPro, Maxio, or similar; advanced Excel skills are required.

• CPA certification.
• Big 4 or national accounting firm experience.
• Experience supporting an IPO, audit-readiness process, or similarly scaled financial environment.
• NetSuite, SQL, multi-entity, multi-currency, or intercompany revenue experience.
• Experience building accounting processes from the ground up in a startup or high-growth environment.
