Senior Advisor, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with two days per week on-site

Salary: CAD 105,000–120,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead business impact analyses, operational risk assessments, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Develop and maintain BCP/DR policies, standards, procedures, runbooks, and end-to-end documentation for critical operations.
• Plan and lead tabletop exercises, simulations, recovery tests, and other preparedness activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional recovery efforts during incidents, including communications and recovery-progress tracking.
• Drive continuous improvements based on risk assessments, exercises, and real events, and report outcomes to senior leaders and governance committees.
• Promote enterprise-wide operational resilience standards and translate continuity requirements into practical technology recovery solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Disaster and Emergency Management, technology, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, or related risk management.
• Strong experience leading BCP/DR programs, including planning, testing, execution, and continuous improvement.
• Hands-on experience developing and executing IT disaster recovery plans in test or real-world scenarios.
• Understanding of data center, infrastructure, application recovery, and technology recovery strategies.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, organization, problem-solving, and Microsoft-based technology experience.

Nice to have

• Professional certification from DRII, BCI, or an equivalent organization.
