Specialty Field Technician (Oil and Gas)

Location: Gillette, Wyoming, United States

Salary: $17/hour during training and $25/hour for project work

What you will do

• Inspect oil and gas facilities to identify and quantify hydrocarbon gas leaks and vents.
• Navigate to facilities using maps and GPS.
• Calibrate and maintain technical equipment.
• Operate detection and measurement technologies under Team Lead supervision.
• Collect and record emissions data and prepare field reports.
• Support other projects and operational activities as business needs evolve.

Requirements

• Experience in the oil and gas industry; natural gas processing or transmission facility experience is preferred.
• Effective computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office, plus proficiency with Android OS.
• Ability to work 12-hour daytime shifts.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to walk or stand while carrying technical equipment, work at heights and outdoors in all weather, climb ladders and stairs, and lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation, stack emission testing, or mechanical work.
