TL;DR

What you will do

  • Advise executive leadership and senior management on high-impact legal, regulatory, policy, and business matters.
  • Lead legal support for federal, state, and regional regulatory and legislative activities, including matters before FERC.
  • Develop and review pleadings, testimony, policy reports, position papers, and other advocacy materials.
  • Represent or support PJM in courts, regulatory proceedings, legislative forums, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Coordinate with Governmental & Member Services, stakeholders, regulators, and internal and external counsel to advance regulatory strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop attorneys and legal professionals while managing multiple complex matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, including leadership of attorneys, legal professionals, or cross-functional teams.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the electric industry, FERC regulatory matters, or organized wholesale electricity markets.
  • At least 10 years of legal practice in regulatory, commercial, litigation, energy, or related areas.
  • Licensed to practice law and able to be admitted to the State Bar of Pennsylvania.

Nice to have

  • MBA or business administration background.
  • Experience with PJM agreements, tariffs, operating agreements, markets, operations, planning functions, neighboring systems, and PJM committee processes.
