Manager, Localization (YouTube)

Location: Glendale, California, United States

Salary: $95,500–$128,000 per year, plus potential bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end localization operations for Disney Entertainment’s global YouTube content portfolio.
• Coordinate dubbing, subtitling, accessibility assets, translated metadata, titles, graphics, and marketing materials across multiple productions.
• Manage schedules, milestones, budgets, purchase orders, invoicing, forecasting, and delivery timelines.
• Partner with Mastering, Creative, Publishing, Finance, Operations, Legal, and regional stakeholders to route, review, troubleshoot, and deliver localized assets.
• Manage localization vendors, agencies, and freelance partners, including bids, work orders, SLAs, performance reviews, and escalations.
• Mentor team members and improve localization workflows through automation and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in audiovisual localization, digital media operations, project management, post-production, or digital content production.
• Knowledge of dubbing, subtitling, accessibility, metadata localization, localization quality control, and multilingual content delivery.
• Experience managing complex localization projects, vendor relationships, budgets, schedules, risks, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Knowledge of digital video formats, media specifications, file-based workflows, technical delivery requirements, and quality control standards.
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Airtable, Box, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Frame.io, or similar platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with global content distribution for streaming, broadcast, social, or digital platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted localization, LLMs, machine translation, workflow automation, translation management systems, or CAT tools.
• Experience with media asset management, digital asset management, localization management systems, subtitle authoring, or localization QA tools.
• YouTube platform, metadata, publishing workflow, and content policy experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; PMP, Agile, Scrum, ATA, GALA, MIIS, or localization certifications are a plus.
