Buyer (Genomics)

Location: Cape Town, South Africa; onsite at the Cape Town site. Local candidates are preferred.

What you will do

• Analyze raw material and component requirements against manufacturing schedules and R&D laboratory demands.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare supplier proposals based on cost, quality, value, and delivery timelines.
• Onboard and maintain suppliers in the QMS system and investigate potential suppliers.
• Build effective relationships with suppliers and negotiate material and service costs.
• Execute purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Monitor deliveries to ensure materials arrive on schedule, at the negotiated price, and to company quality standards.

Requirements

• Matric/high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree; 2–3+ years of industry experience may substitute for an undergraduate degree.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to build and manage schedules, timelines, and inventory allocation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and edit working documents.
• Current eligibility to work in South Africa is required; visa sponsorship needs may be assessed.
