Assistant Professor of Agricultural Business/Economics

Location: Canyon, Texas, United States; on-campus faculty position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment. H-1B and other work authorization visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Teach at least 9 hours per long semester through face-to-face and/or online formats.
• Contribute to teaching in agricultural economics and agribusiness, with emphasis on production and resource management, finance, international trade, policy, or management.
• Develop an agricultural economics or agribusiness research program, secure external funding, and publish findings in refereed journals.
• Advise M.S. and Ph.D. students in Agricultural Business and Economics.
• Collaborate with scientists, universities, agencies, and agriculture industry partners.
• Build relationships with regional and state agribusiness professionals and support student employment opportunities.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agribusiness, or a closely related field.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
• Working knowledge and experience in crop and livestock industries.
• Experience securing external funding and publishing scholarly research.
• Interdisciplinary teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Academic or industry experience beyond the Ph.D.
• Experience establishing relationships with external constituents in allied agriculture industries.
