Information Systems LLC is the contracting company for an embedded software and firmware testing role supporting sequencing products at Illumina.
What you will do
- Develop software, firmware, and hardware for testing embedded systems and sequencing products.
- Write, execute, analyze, and document manual and automated tests.
- Operate laboratory instrumentation and simulators for integration, system, and functionality testing.
- Troubleshoot system problems and support developers and domain experts in improving verification tests.
- Lead test requirement analysis and review meetings, report on test activities, and prepare formal firmware and FPGA test documentation.
- Collaborate with scientists, technicians, engineers, marketing, and project management on commercial and internal systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
- Hands-on experience with circuits, boards, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and FPGA.
- Programming experience with C, C++, Python, Perl, Tcl, and MATLAB.
- Experience writing and executing manual and automated tests, analyzing results, and troubleshooting systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and interdisciplinary relationships independently.
- Contract engagement for 6 months in San Diego, CA.
Nice to have
- Experience with LabVIEW, National Instruments, Subversion, Git, or Visual Studio.
- Experience with PCB design and layout.
- Programming experience with VHDL or Verilog.
- Understanding of optics, fluidics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or mechanical engineering.
