What you will do
- Help set the daily editorial agenda and lead or participate in newsroom editorial meetings.
- Supervise or closely coordinate the assignment desk, including crew deployment, breaking-news response, live shots, feeds, and newsroom resources.
- Work with reporters and producers to strengthen story angles, storytelling, scripts, rundowns, and coverage plans.
- Lead major breaking-news coverage and coordinate decisions across broadcast, web, and social platforms.
- Coach reporters, MMJs, producers, and assignment editors on writing, storytelling, and news judgment.
- Plan sweeps coverage, investigative opportunities, enterprise stories, and special projects while enforcing editorial standards.
Requirements
- Experience directing editorial coverage and newsroom operations.
- Strong news judgment and the ability to make rapid decisions during breaking news.
- Ability to coordinate broadcast, digital, and social content workflows.
- Commitment to accuracy, fairness, legal guidelines, journalistic ethics, and company policies.
- Ability to supervise and develop newsroom staff.
