Commercial Regulatory Strategist - Express Scripts - Hybrid (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Morris Plains, New Jersey, United States. Occasional or permanent home working requires cable broadband or fiber internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.

Salary: $126,300–$210,500 annual salary, depending on experience and geographic location. Eligible for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Translate federal and state regulatory, legislative, and policy developments into clear business recommendations.
• Advise leaders on regulatory impacts, emerging trends, market opportunities, and long-term commercial strategy.
• Lead regulatory impact assessments, market evaluations, and competitive analyses for product positioning and growth.
• Partner with sales, account management, product, clinical, operations, legal, compliance, and government affairs teams.
• Support client retention, expansion opportunities, RFP strategies, and finalist presentations.
• Develop executive-ready presentations, issue briefs, and client-facing materials that simplify complex topics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial health plan strategy, pharmacy benefit management, healthcare consulting, regulatory strategy, public policy, compliance, legal, or a related client-facing healthcare role.
• Strong understanding of commercial healthcare markets, employer-sponsored health coverage, pharmacy benefit management, and state and federal regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to analyze complex regulatory and market information and convert findings into actionable business guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level and client-facing materials.
• Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across a matrixed organization.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, public policy, pharmacy, or a related field.
• Experience supporting employer-sponsored healthcare clients.
• Experience presenting strategic recommendations to senior leaders or external clients.
• Knowledge of healthcare affordability strategies, compliance considerations, and pharmacy benefit management market trends.
