TL;DR
Sr. Analyst-FERC - I (II) (FERC regulatory policy): Analyzing federal energy regulations, FERC proceedings, electricity markets, and policy developments affecting PJM with an accent on regulatory research, impact assessment, and stakeholder support. Focus on developing policy recommendations, briefing materials, executive summaries, and consistent positions for engagement with regulators and industry stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid position in Washington, DC

hirify.global is a regional transmission organization coordinating wholesale electricity movement and power system reliability across multiple states.

What you will do

  • Monitor and analyze FERC issuances, regulatory filings, proceedings, and policy developments affecting PJM and the electric industry.
  • Research electricity markets, resource adequacy, transmission development, reliability, decarbonization, and grid modernization.
  • Assess the business and operational impact of proposed regulations, policy initiatives, and other regional transmission organization proposals.
  • Prepare policy briefs, issue papers, reports, presentations, talking points, testimony, comments, and executive summaries.
  • Support engagement with FERC, policymakers, regulators, agency staff, industry organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Governmental Services, Communications, Markets, Planning, Operations, and External Affairs teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Policy, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs, energy policy, legislative analysis, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting legislative and regulatory materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related business, economics, energy policy, law, political science, or public policy field.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, the utility business, and regulatory processes.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports and policy briefings.
  • Ability to synthesize complex materials and assess their impact on PJM.
