TL;DR
Sr. Manager, FERC (Energy Regulation): Analyzing federal energy regulation, FERC proceedings, electricity markets, and policy developments affecting PJM with an accent on regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, and executive decision support. Focus on interpreting FERC orders and proposed rules, developing policy positions and recommendations, and advising leadership on market, operational, and business impacts.

What you will do
- Monitor FERC issuances, filings, proceedings, enforcement actions, technical conferences, and regulatory developments affecting PJM and the electric industry.
- Analyze electricity markets, resource adequacy, transmission development, reliability, decarbonization, grid modernization, and RTO proposals.
- Assist with FERC pleadings, regulatory filings, testimony materials, comments, stakeholder communications, and proceedings.
- Develop policy recommendations, issue papers, briefing materials, presentations, talking points, and executive summaries.
- Advise executives on the business, operational, and market implications of FERC decisions and proposed regulations.
- Lead interactions with FERC personnel, policymakers, regulators, industry organizations, and public-sector stakeholders while managing the Analyst, FERC.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, economics, business administration, energy policy, law, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 10 years of experience at DOE or FERC.
- Leadership experience engaging with FERC, legislative bodies, and public-sector stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, negotiation, relationship management, written, verbal, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with strong attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in business administration, economics, energy policy, law, political science, public policy, or a related field.
- Experience with PJM agreements, tariffs, and stakeholder processes.
- Knowledge of wholesale electricity markets, transmission planning, reliability standards, and RTO operations.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and industry advocacy initiatives.
