What you will do
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for open-channel, storm-sewer, detention, water-quality, and regional flood-planning projects.
- Contribute to drainage master plans, capital improvement programs, and drainage impact analyses.
- Conduct field investigations and collect data to support engineering models and design development.
- Prepare technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates under the guidance of licensed engineers.
- Improve modeling workflows, design efficiency, quality processes, and project delivery.
- Support client meetings, quality-control reviews, technical coordination, and guidance for junior staff.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training certification.
- At least 3 years of relevant stormwater or water resources experience.
- Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and deliver high-quality results.
- Initiative and willingness to learn.
Nice to have
- Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, XP-SWMM, or InfoWorks.
- Certified Floodplain Manager certification.
- Programming or scripting experience, such as Python, for data analysis, model automation, workflow automation, or result visualization.
- Familiarity with Texas municipal drainage criteria.
