Senior/Lead Market Design Specialist I (II) (Electricity Markets)

What you will do

• Analyze electricity market trends and ISO/RTO market rules to identify opportunities and inform design decisions.
• Design, evaluate, and optimize market structures, rules, and proposed market enhancements across PJM markets.
• Develop concepts, strategies, position papers, and recommendations for complex market design matters.
• Present complex ideas to internal and external stakeholders and manage competing expectations among market participants.
• Support revisions to PJM governing documents and work with legal counsel on FERC filings, transmittal letters, and affidavits.
• Lead complex market design initiatives and drive cross-functional teams toward consensus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, economics, mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in an engineering or analyst position.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Ability to apply mathematical and electrical theory, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.
• Ability to produce high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available; PJM is not STEM OPT eligible.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or at least 8 years of experience as a senior engineer or senior analyst.
• Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions.
