Optician Licensed Full Time

Location: Frankfort, Kentucky, United States; onsite at BJ’s Wholesale Club location #0255

Salary: Starting from $27.00, plus potential additional compensation through the spiff program.

What you will do

• Dispense spectacles and other optical products for adults and children based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Verify prescription and order-entry data, file orders correctly, and advance orders through received, notification, and dispensing stages.
• Take measurements, read prescriptions using a lensometer, recommend frames and lenses, and notify members when products are ready.
• Deliver in-person and phone-based member service, explain exam-fee procedures, and support sales and performance goals.
• Perform eyeglass adjustments and repairs using optical hand tools.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, payment collection, store standards, safety, and policy compliance.

Requirements

• Active optician license valid for practice in the state of employment is required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance are required for this full-time position.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to move around frequently, handle optical tools, and lift objects up to 20 pounds; heavier items may require assistance.
• Compliance with HIPAA and company privacy and confidentiality policies is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optical products and optical business practices.
• High school diploma, college degree, or experience in wholesale, retail, or optical environments.
