Director, Design & Engineering (Theme Parks)

Location: hirify.global Orlando, with frequent walking throughout the park and construction sites and outdoor work in varying weather conditions

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and mentor the Design & Engineering project management team.
• Direct the planning, design, and execution of major attractions, infrastructure improvements, and capital projects across the Orlando parks.
• Serve as project manager for major capital projects valued at $10 million or greater.
• Manage architects, engineers, ride vendors, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other project partners.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, permitting, contracts, bids, change orders, and project closeout.
• Coordinate delivery in active operating parks while minimizing impacts to guests, employees, and park operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of project management experience across design, engineering, and construction.
• At least 5 years of experience in theme parks, entertainment, hospitality, resorts, attractions, or another guest-facing industry.
• Experience leading large-scale capital projects valued at $10 million or greater and managing project managers or cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, permitting, project delivery methods, and construction documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with ride systems, attraction development, specialty construction, or themed entertainment projects.
• Experience managing projects in occupied, operating, or high-traffic facilities.
• Familiarity with project scheduling and construction management software.
• PMP, CCM, PE, RA, or another related professional certification.
