Postdoctoral Research Associate (Chemistry)

Location: Bozeman, Montana, United States; immediate eligibility to work in the US required

Salary: $57,000–$60,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

hirify.global’s Neufeldt Lab conducts federally funded chemistry research within the Department of Chemistry.

What you will do

• Synthesize and characterize organic molecules and organometallic complexes.
• Design and conduct experiments for reaction optimization and mechanistic studies.
• Analyze experimental results using NMR spectroscopy, gas chromatography, and GCMS.
• Maintain accurate research records and communicate experimental results.
• Write reports, manuscripts, and research proposals.
• Train and mentor researchers and support equipment upkeep and laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field by the position start date.
• Expertise in organic laboratory techniques, including inert-atmosphere manipulations, organic reaction optimization, and NMR spectroscopy.
• Must be immediately eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed records.

Nice to have

• Experience with organometallic synthesis and/or transition-metal catalysis.
• Strong publication record in experimental organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, or catalysis.
• Experience collaborating with or mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers.
• Experience writing manuscripts and preparing figures.
