AVP, Data Analytics - Regulatory Reporting (AI)

Location: HQ - San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, plus eligible annual discretionary cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 12.5% each.

What you will do

• Oversee end-to-end regulatory reporting submissions to the OCC, FRB, and other agencies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, deadlines, and documented review controls.
• Manage and develop a team of 2–3 data analysts, including workload planning, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, and retention.
• Supervise data sourcing, quality controls, reconciliation, lineage documentation, metadata, data dictionaries, and audit trails.
• Partner with IT, Finance, Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, and Model Risk Management on reporting, remediation, and data governance.
• Build scalable data pipelines and automation using Databricks, SQL, Python, AI-enabled data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, process mining, workflow automation, and NLP tools.
• Act as the primary contact for regulatory inquiries and examinations, presenting findings and preparing briefing materials for senior management and regulators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in data analytics, regulatory reporting, or financial reporting within banking, financial services, or a regulatory agency.
• Hands-on experience preparing and managing regulatory reporting requirements and at least 2 years of people management experience.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, experience with Python, and required experience working in Databricks to build pipelines and perform analytics and modeling.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, credit risk, financial instruments, data governance, metadata management, enterprise data warehouses, and model risk management requirements.
• Employment eligibility is subject to credit, criminal background, drug screening, and U.S. E-Verify requirements.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or MS.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, MLflow, Databricks AutoML, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or similar tools.
• CPA, CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional designation.
