Location: Remote within the United States; listed as USA-CA-Remote. Local travel and occasional out-of-office site visits may be required.
Salary: $70,500–$95,000 annual base salary, plus an annual bonus based on experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do
- Support environmental planning and Fee-to-Trust projects for Tribal Nations.
- Assist with environmental impact analysis, biological and cultural assessments, and NEPA/CEQA research and document production.
- Develop communication and relationship-building strategies with Tribal governments and Indigenous communities.
- Gather data, prepare technical report sections and permit applications, and coordinate with consultants, clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Track project budgets, schedules, workflows, documents, and status information.
- Follow safety requirements, maintain confidentiality, contribute to continuous improvement, and stay current with industry practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in environmental planning.
- Experience writing NEPA Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements while working with Tribal Nations.
- Experience developing Fee-to-Trust applications for Tribal Nations.
- Knowledge of NEPA and CEQA planning documents, environmental regulations, and permits including CWA 404/401, NHPA Section 106, and ESA Section 7.
- Strong research, analysis, reporting, communication, organization, data-management, and technical writing skills, with familiarity using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, maps, drawings, and scientific data.
