Quality Engineer - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, USA; onsite manufacturing role on the 2nd shift with significant plant-floor presence

What you will do

• Lead Quality Technicians and Torque Specialists in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Ensure quality standards are followed across internal manufacturing processes and external suppliers.
• Track quality metrics, identify trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support new product development through production start-ups, tool validation, and supplier certification.
• Develop inspection and testing processes, equipment requirements, quality procedures, and work instructions.
• Coordinate supplier inspections, failure analysis, issue containment, and preventive actions while supporting safety and budget requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, control plans, print reading, process improvement, and quality methodologies.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and leading or supervising hourly technicians or specialists.
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and travel up to 10% as needed.
