Campus Planner (Capital Planning)

Location: hirify.global campuses, including Bozeman, Montana, United States; the role includes on-site facility inspections and field investigations.

Salary: $31.507 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Coordinate the Long-Range Building Program priority capital projects list and support legislative appropriation planning.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive capital projects database covering construction, renovation, maintenance, building inventory, and historic preservation projects.
• Coordinate long-range planning with state agencies, university leadership, the Board of Regents, and external partners.
• Support space audits, utilization tracking, facilities condition inventories, project programming, budgeting, estimates, and feasibility studies.
• Develop requests for proposals and qualifications, project request files, planning reports, technical documents, and oral presentations.
• Maintain campus wayfinding, facilities planning, design, construction, physical plant, and historic preservation standards and reporting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, public policy, or a related field, with experience requirements ranging from one to eight years depending on the Planner I, II, or III classification.
• Experience with strategic, capital, and long-range planning; space management; project programming and budgeting; project management; research; and data collection.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as GIS and web-based interfaces.
• Knowledge of capital project development, long-range planning concepts, floor plans, and construction drawings.
• Planner III candidates require AICP certification or the ability to obtain it within one year, plus institutional and capital planning experience.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required, and the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• AICP certification.
• Experience designing and presenting technical data through spreadsheets, charts, tables, and graphs.
• Experience with CAD and GIS.
