TL;DR
Technical Lead (Data Engineering) (SQL Server/SSIS/SSRS/Fivetran/Python/DBT): Leading the delivery of ETL/ELT pipelines and DBT models with an accent on architecture, code quality, CI/CD, observability, and data quality. Focus on designing reliable pipelines, hardening CI/CD, implementing SLI/SLO dashboards and alerts, and achieving predictable delivery with strong first-pass quality.
Location: Manila, Philippines; full-time role with required US-hour overlap and support for releases and critical incidents within agreed SLA windows.

What you will do
- Lead technical design for ETL/ELT pipelines and DBT models, review pull requests, and enforce performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Lead the Azure DevOps to GitHub migration and harden CI/CD processes.
- Implement observability through dashboards, alerts, runbooks, SLIs, SLOs, and error-budget practices.
- Define the Definition of Done for Ready for QA, including tests, data validation, and lineage documentation.
- Coach engineers and coordinate with DataOps and Platform teams on environments, secrets, and least-privilege access.
- Partner with business analysts and Scrum Masters, represent the pod in stakeholder reviews, and support incident post-mortems and quarterly health assessments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of data engineering experience.
- Expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Python, and DBT.
- Working knowledge of Fivetran and Tableau.
- Experience leading pods or teams toward managed-service outcomes, including throughput, cycle time, predictability, Definition of Done, and quality gates.
- Experience implementing observability and data quality SLIs/SLOs with dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
- Ability to provide US-hour overlap and support releases and critical incidents within agreed SLA windows.
