STSY - Research Assistant Part-time (Forensic Research)

What you will do

• Conduct comprehensive historical and archival research on legacy forensic case files.
• Organize, maintain, and optimize case documents for accessibility and ongoing investigative review.
• Compile accurate research findings and draft detailed summaries for qualified personnel.
• Collaborate with technical staff to ensure documentation meets quality and archival standards.
• Follow SOPs, confidentiality requirements, chain-of-custody principles, and security protocols when handling sensitive materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated archival or historical research experience, including document retrieval, evaluation, and interpretation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage complex case files and large volumes of documentation.
• Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI if required.

Nice to have

• Former certification as a forensic examiner under a recognized forensic quality system.
• Experience with legacy forensic documentation, evidence records, or historical case files.
• Experience working in controlled or classified environments.
