Asset Technician (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Maintain, test, repair, and improve production assets using electrical, mechanical, control system, and automation skills.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and provide technical support to shift engineering and operations teams.
• Lead root cause analysis of breakdowns, identify failure modes and trends, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Manage maintenance records, asset bills of materials, spares, schedules, and work reports in SAP.
• Support maintenance planning, projects, change initiatives, OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and weekend maintenance activities.
• Deliver on-the-job training and create SOPs, SMPs, and OPLs for maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering qualification is essential; HNC, HND, or degree-level qualifications are desirable.
• Methodical fault-finding skills across automation, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong technical, organisational, communication, training, and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of TPM and Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Competence with Microsoft Office and the ability to work with data and information.
• Flexible, resilient, committed, and focused on a right-first-time approach.

Nice to have

• Siemens S5/S7 experience, particularly for an electrical-biased role.
