Focus on developing MATLAB algorithms for large time-series datasets, assessing data quality, and preparing research protocols and technical documentation.
Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama, United States; onsite work with occasional laboratory and field data collection, variable hours, and occasional nights or weekends.

What you will do
- Acquire, manage, and analyze data from instrumentation, high-speed video, medical images, and engineering or medical databases.
- Develop algorithms and process large engineering and research time-series datasets using MATLAB and custom or commercial analysis software.
- Apply statistics, numerical methods, signal processing, dynamics, and kinematic motion analysis to scientific research.
- Develop data-management best practices, file structures, relational databases, analysis documentation, reports, papers, and presentations.
- Support Injury Biomechanics research, development, testing, and evaluation through literature reviews, test plans, protocol documentation, and data preparation.
- Collaborate with engineers, physicians, computer scientists, database developers, data-quality assessors, and biomedical researchers while guiding junior data analysts.
Requirements
- Degree and coursework in a relevant STEM field from an accredited program, demonstrated through publications.
- Experience with numerical-methods programming, data acquisition, and MATLAB, including image, signal, and statistics toolboxes.
- Knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, mathematics, scientific procedures, and data-quality assessment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary research environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued driver’s license for independent travel to restricted meetings and field-data collection locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Associate Investigator credentials.
