Location: Needham/Boston, United States; employees work from the office 4 days a week with flexibility to work remotely 1 day a week.
Salary: USD 120,000–225,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do
- Act as a hands-on technical leader and architect for private investment platforms.
- Design and deliver scalable systems supporting investment lifecycle workflows and data integration.
- Modernize existing platforms into modular, service-oriented architectures.
- Lead strategic initiatives from system design through production and establish engineering standards, SDLC practices, and observability.
- Translate complex investment workflows into technical solutions while partnering with Investment, Operations, Valuation, Legal, Compliance, and Reporting teams.
- Drive AI-assisted development and embed AI capabilities into engineering, research, workflow, and reporting processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and supporting complex, business-critical systems.
- Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Python, or similar technologies.
- Expertise in distributed systems, APIs, modern architecture patterns, data integration, scalability, and production observability.
- Experience with messaging or streaming technologies such as Kafka and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and introducing new technologies across teams.
- Financial services experience; exposure to private markets or investment platforms is preferred.
