TL;DR
Senior/Lead Engineer/Analyst I (II) (Electricity Markets): Reviewing and improving electricity market rules, tariff language, technical specifications, and operational documentation with an accent on cross-document traceability, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Focus on identifying contradictions and missing requirements, coordinating market quality initiatives, and reducing implementation and compliance risks across interconnected processes.

Location: Hybrid in Audubon, Pennsylvania, United States

What you will do

  • Review market rules, tariff language, manuals, technical specifications, settlement documentation, operating procedures, and regulatory filings.
  • Perform cross-document traceability analysis across governing documents, policies, procedures, system specifications, and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify contradictions, missing or duplicated requirements, downstream impacts, and opportunities to reduce compliance risk.
  • Coordinate and lead Markets Quality Improvement initiatives, including communication plans, metrics, and status reporting.
  • Develop templates and best-practice documentation for consistent market project implementations.
  • Collaborate with Market Design, Legal, subject-matter experts, project managers, Compliance, and Operational Excellence teams.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 0–8 years of experience in electricity markets, bulk electric power operations, quality improvement, or electric utility compliance.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex technical and regulatory documentation.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple reviews simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • At least five years of experience with PJM agreements and tariffs.
  • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions.
  • Experience with the PJM stakeholder process.
