hirify.global coordinates work related to electric power systems, regional grid operations, wholesale electricity markets, and transmission planning.

What you will do

  • Complete three eight-month rotations across system operations, market operations, transmission planning, and related engineering support functions.
  • Apply engineering principles, power system concepts, and analytical methods to studies, operational analysis, market analysis, and planning activities.
  • Support technical problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical or operational work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Participate in structured learning and formal mentoring with program leaders, managers, and technical subject matter experts.
  • Engage with former program participants and senior and executive leaders through assignments and roundtable discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, electrical engineering, electrical power engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or operations research.
  • Recent or upcoming college graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Ability to apply electrical engineering concepts, including fundamental power systems, circuit, mathematical, and analytical principles.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in quantitative and qualitative analysis, engineering judgment, and production of detail-oriented work products.
  • Ability to learn technical tools, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

  • Academic, internship, co-op, research, or project experience in power systems, transmission planning, system operations, energy markets, data analysis, electric utility operations, or related areas.
  • Exposure to power system analysis tools, programming or scripting, data visualization, modeling, or simulation software.
  • Experience using PSS/e.
