TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer - HVAC (HVAC/Plumbing): Designing and delivering HVAC and plumbing systems for facilities, pump stations, treatment plants, and drainage structures with an accent on technical calculations, drawing review, and construction-phase services. Focus on sealing engineering documents, coordinating multidisciplinary projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting client and business development activities.

Location: Fort Worth, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work and occasional travel to client sites.

What you will do

  • Serve as the HVAC and plumbing engineer for facilities, pump stations, treatment plants, and drainage structures.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations, drawings, and reports, and seal documents in accordance with state Professional Engineer regulations.
  • Deliver study, design, and construction-phase services from project inception through start-up and turnover.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, client staff, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentor junior staff and manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and project deliverables.
  • Support business development through engineering scope, fee, and proposal preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 4 years of HVAC and/or plumbing engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Technical proficiency in HVAC and plumbing design following ASHRAE, ASPE, IBC, and NFPA standards.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

  • 6 or more years of HVAC and plumbing engineering experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with pump station and treatment plant HVAC and plumbing engineering.
  • Experience with federal UFC and UFGS standards and client-specific A/E processes.
  • CxA certification or experience with commissioning and energy-efficiency services.
