What you will do
- Coordinate and maintain planning data and BOM integrity for purchased and manufactured materials across Dayton branch plants.
- Supervise 5–10 materials team members using JD Edwards reports, transactions, ordering, and planning processes.
- Monitor style forecasts and coordinate material requirements for engineering changes, discontinued styles, and new style implementations.
- Establish inventory levels, investigate shortages and abnormalities, and reconcile active and obsolete part balances.
- Lead inventory audits, reporting, problem-solving, cycle count adjustments, transfers, material issues, and month-end transactions.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, purchasing, and management to ensure materials are available for on-time furniture production and shipping.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with 4–6 years of inventory systems management experience, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in inventory system management.
- Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and JD Edwards or a similar inventory management system.
- Knowledge of material requirements planning, lean supply techniques, material handling equipment, and continuous improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing and JIT.
- Strong leadership, organizational, written communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across management and operational levels.
- Ability to work throughout the facility, lift up to 25 pounds, and use personal protective equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPIM certification through APICS.
- Experience with Agile, reading prints, and reconciling physical inventory.
