Texas Escrow Officer

Salary: $26.88–$35.82 hourly

What you will do

• Handle real estate escrow transactions, including opening accounts, managing funds, and completing settlements.
• Clear titles, order title reports, and resolve title defects, liens, and encumbrances.
• Prepare, review, explain, and finalize closing documents and settlement statements.
• Calculate prorated taxes, interest, commissions, and other transaction amounts.
• Obtain signatures, record and file documents, balance escrow accounts, and disburse funds.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies while monitoring and mitigating risk.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of related experience, preferably with direct escrow transaction or escrow assistant experience.
• Valid licensing or certification as required by the applicable state.
• Knowledge of standard escrow and title industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong organizational and client-relations skills, and the ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
• Professional, detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle confidential information and communicate with buyers, sellers, agents, brokers, and lenders.
