Engineering Leader (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Based in California, United States; hybrid collaboration with managers and teams coming into the office 10+ days per month

Annual base salary: $272,000–$340,000 USD for positions based in California, excluding equity, bonuses, and other additional compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the technical and organizational strategy for multi-cloud infrastructure and hirify.global’s Kubernetes platform.
• Manage multiple teams and managers across cloud infrastructure, compute platforms, developer experience, and reliability engineering.
• Define and deliver the multi-year infrastructure roadmap covering cluster architecture, workload orchestration, service networking, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD.
• Set standards for operational excellence, including SLOs, incident response, on-call health, postmortems, and rollout practices.
• Drive multi-cloud portability, disaster recovery, multi-region resilience, security, compliance, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring managers and engineers and scaling the organization.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software and infrastructure engineering experience, including 5+ years leading teams and managing managers.
• Production-grade Kubernetes experience at scale, including multi-cluster and multi-tenant operations, upgrades, workload isolation, autoscaling, and reliability.
• Experience with at least two major cloud providers among AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and declarative operations, including Terraform, Helm, and GitOps tools.
• Background building highly available and secure distributed systems, observability, service networking, service mesh, and cross-cloud identity and traffic security.
• Experience working with security and regulatory functions in regulated environments, plus a BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, or crypto infrastructure.
• Familiarity with blockchain node operations.
• Exposure to hardware security modules or high-assurance key management systems.
