TL;DR
R&D MIS Spring 2027 Co-op (MedTech/Engineering): Developing STRATAFIX barbed suture products through hands-on laboratory studies, fixture development, SolidWorks modeling, prototype fabrication, and surgeon Voice-of-Customer evaluation with an accent on minimally invasive surgery and medical device engineering. Focus on designing engineering fixtures, documenting test protocols and reports, evaluating prototypes, and collaborating with engineers and suppliers.
Location: Onsite in Raritan, New Jersey, United States. The role requires full-time work at the Raritan site and personal transportation to and from the location.
Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour, based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience.

What you will do
- Perform hands-on laboratory work in engineering labs.
- Conduct engineering studies and develop fixtures for STRATAFIX barbed suture products.
- Generate models and technical drawings in SolidWorks.
- Fabricate prototypes and evaluate them through surgeon Voice-of-Customer events.
- Write test protocols, final reports, and meeting minutes using good documentation practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project activities.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university during the co-op session.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least the freshman year and availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the co-op session.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0; a GPA of 3.2 or higher is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship is required.
