Property Preservation Specialist II (Mortgage Default)

What you will do

• Review vendor inspection reports to confirm vacancy, assess property conditions, and determine whether securing or other preservation actions are needed.
• Monitor damaged properties, repair bids, insurance claims, and claim settlements.
• Coordinate with property preservation vendors, Accounting, Claims, Foreclosure, and internal CAM departments.
• Support inspectors with gaining access to properties when required.
• Follow company and regulatory compliance controls and address audit or regulator-raised issues.
• Complete related property preservation and operational duties.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year in mortgage default or property preservation.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and independent-working abilities.
• Detail-oriented, motivated, collaborative, and professional approach.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of mortgage default or property preservation experience.
• Knowledge of M&T Bank systems.
