Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, 585 Lebanon St, Melrose, Massachusetts 02176, United States. On-call shifts are required once per month on Saturday or Sunday, with arrival within 45 minutes when called.
Salary: $17.00–$20.77 per hour.

What you will do
- Set up operating rooms, specialty equipment, operating tables, positioning devices, fluid carts, and room warmers for surgical procedures.
- Assist with room turnover, procedural-area cleanliness, case-cart handling, linen, trash, recycling, and sharps-container maintenance.
- Transport patients, equipment, supplies, blood products, specimens, sterile items, and surgical kits between hospital departments.
- Support patient transfers between the operating room table and bed under clinical team guidance.
- Monitor medical gas tanks and alarms, maintain safe access to equipment, and comply with surgical-area safety requirements.
- Rotate through oriented procedural units and support process-improvement initiatives focused on safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 40–50 pounds or more and remain active for an eight-hour shift or assignment length.
- Knowledge of patient positioning, universal precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and follow directions reliably.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use web-based applications and maintain accurate records.
- Flexibility to follow the operating room on-call policy and work the scheduled Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. shift.
