Circuit Designer II (Optical)

Location: United States; applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or other work visas.

Salary: $70,000–$94,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Analyze service orders and design appropriate end-to-end circuits for customer service delivery.
• Prepare detailed circuit layout records and coordinate provisioning requirements with internal departments.
• Monitor transmission equipment utilization and support network capacity optimization.
• Maintain accurate facility inventory assignments and identify network congestion for Engineering and Planning.
• Provide technical support and interpretation to internal departments.
• Assist Optical Engineers with developing and revising procedures for processing and publishing circuit layout records.

Requirements

• At least three years of telecommunications circuit design experience covering order acceptance through published circuit layout records.
• Hands-on knowledge of telecommunications equipment configuration, standards, and protocols.
• Strong understanding of DWDM network configuration and interworking.
• Practical knowledge of Ethernet and IP networks.
• Experience with Salesforce, Metasolv, databases, Excel, Visio, and Word.
• Ability to manage high-volume, complex design work with precision and support off-hours or weekend work when needed.
