Focus on designing detention and retention systems, preparing construction documents, coordinating permitting, and managing multidisciplinary project delivery.
Location: Austin, Texas; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work

What you will do
- Lead stormwater management, flood mitigation, and water quality improvement projects.
- Oversee the design and analysis of detention and retention basins, open channels, storm drain networks, and stormwater control measures.
- Perform and direct hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, and EPA SWMM.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, and construction documents while ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, client communications, permitting, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Mentor junior engineers, analysts, and technicians and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in stormwater management or water resources design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Texas Professional Engineer license, or ability to expand licensure to Texas within 6 months.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, GIS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of stormwater infrastructure design, technical specifications, construction documents, cost estimates, and permitting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
Nice to have
- CFM certification or experience with floodplain management practices.
- Central Texas experience and familiarity with local criteria.
- Experience with stormwater control measure design and nature-based solutions.
- Business development experience, including client relationship building and proposal development.
