What you will do
- Review medical records, confirm active therapy orders, and identify evaluation priorities, contraindications, and precautions.
- Evaluate referred patients and create prioritized treatment plans with short- and long-term rehabilitation goals.
- Deliver evidence-based speech-language therapy across ICU, CICU, pediatrics, medical-surgical, emergency, and other hospital units.
- Reassess patients, update treatment plans, and communicate with referring providers and other clinicians.
- Develop discharge plans and educate patients, families, and care personnel on exercises, equipment, and strategies to maximize function.
- Provide clinical supervision to therapy assistants, rehabilitation assistants, and other personnel involved in the plan of care.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Speech Language Pathologist program with the corresponding entry-level degree.
- New Hampshire Speech Language Pathologist licensure is required within one year of hire.
- Provisional license holders must complete all provisional requirements within one year of hire.
- BLS certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred but not required.
