Irrigation Mechanic (Part-Time, SeaWorld San Diego)

What you will do

• Operate, repair, and install park irrigation systems.
• Perform horticultural, groundskeeping, and greenhouse work, including watering, planting, pruning, mulching, and mowing.
• Complete construction and installation tasks such as retention walls, pavement, and irrigation systems.
• Operate mowers, augers, trimmers, tractors, forklifts, utility carts, and other equipment after training.
• Operate trucks and trailers and maintain records of daily work activities.
• Prepare for cold weather and storms, repair weather-related damage, and maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of irrigation experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a company driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of cutting, assembling, and gluing irrigation piping; sprinkler head operation and adjustment; and irrigation controllers.
• Ability to work in water up to chin deep with a flotation device, stand for long periods, and repeatedly bend, kneel, and climb.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
