What you will do
- Oversee daily site operations for earthwork projects, including workforce, equipment, subcontractor, and schedule coordination.
- Directly manage lead personnel and field staff, addressing performance issues and conducting hiring, training, development, and evaluations.
- Lead job hazard awareness meetings, stretching sessions, toolbox talks, and safety initiatives across service groups.
- Inspect field work and materials for compliance with quality standards, construction plans, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
- Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, timecards, and documentation for safety incidents, equipment damage, and injuries.
- Participate in pre-construction and ongoing job-site meetings and respond to customers, regulatory agencies, and community inquiries.
Requirements
- Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, policies, reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
- Strong written and verbal communication, scheduling, interpersonal, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record; ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required. Must be at least 18 years old and able to work 8–10-hour days with occasional weekends.
Nice to have
- OSHA 10-hour certification, OSHA 30-hour certification, HAZWOPER, excavating safety training, blueprint training, CPR, or first aid.
