Senior Quality Engineer – Customer Liaison (Automotive)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; approximately 70% travel required to JIT plants.

Global automotive seating manufacturer serving major OEMs through research, design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly operations.

What you will do

• Act as the interface between customer JIT operations and the Trim production plant.
• Analyze onsite JIT problems, provide feedback to the Trim plant, and verify improvement actions.
• Coordinate sorting activities and firewall audits at JIT plants, including follow-up on improvement plans.
• Support local Trim resident engineers with technical knowledge, organizational firewall setup, and feedback loops.
• Establish boundary books between OEMs, JIT operations, and the Trim plant.
• Track customer quality KPIs and conduct Inspector Gauge R&R evaluations and inspector training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Professional experience in quality management within the automotive industry.
• Experience in customer quality management and direct communication with OEM and Tier 1 customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including structured root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of automotive quality tools and methodologies, including VDA 6.3, 8D, FMEA, Poka-Yoke, Ishikawa, and 5 Why.
• Fluent English and a high willingness to travel, approximately 70%, are required.
