Spring 2027 Hardware Quality Co-op (Robotics) (Verification & Validation): Planning, executing, and documenting tests for deployed and developing electromechanical robotic systems with an accent on test methods, manufacturing variation, factory acceptance testing, and field failure reproduction. Focus on analyzing test evidence, characterizing system reliability, and building reusable verification and validation documentation.
Location: Onsite at the Bedford, Massachusetts office. Co-op period: approximately January to June 2027, with flexible dates.

What you will do
- Plan and execute verification and validation tests for subassemblies, mechanisms, sensors, and system integration points.
- Develop test procedures, setup instructions, measurement methods, and pass/fail criteria.
- Support test fixtures and test articles used to reproduce issues, characterize design margins, and validate acceptance criteria.
- Analyze manufacturing variation, factory acceptance tests, field failures, logs, video evidence, sensor data, and hardware observations.
- Identify recurring failure modes and reliability improvements, then prepare technical summaries connecting evidence to conclusions.
- Maintain reusable test reports, checklists, issue trackers, acceptance criteria libraries, and evidence folders while collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Interest in verification and validation, test engineering, reliability, quality engineering, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including sensors, actuators, mechanisms, drawings, tolerances, and assembly variation.
- Experience with CAD for mechanical designs or test fixtures; SolidWorks is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hands-on engineering, manufacturing, and lab environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Excel, Python, MATLAB, Kibana, or similar data analysis and scripting tools.
