NewsNation - Audio Operator (A2) - Part-time

Location: New York, NY; onsite in the New York studios

Salary: $45–$50 per hour

NewsNation is a national news cable network owned and operated by hirify.global, reaching television households across the United States.

What you will do

• Manage talent microphones, IFBs, and cables during live national newscasts.
• Troubleshoot frequency and connection problems in a live broadcast environment.
• Communicate microphone placement and technical issues to the A1 mixing the show.
• Resolve problems quickly and efficiently during live news broadcasts.
• Document issues and communicate clearly with the broadcast team.
• Work weeknight and weekend morning shifts as assigned.

Requirements

• IBEW membership is required.
• Three or more years of professional live television broadcast operations experience.
• Ability to collaborate, multitask, and work independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and common business software.
• Professional communication with on-air talent and broadcast staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of mixing and communications, including AZ Edit.
