Skilled Mechanical Plant Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Lima, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Lima plant. The plant operates 7 days per week on rotating 12-hour shifts using a 2-2-3 schedule: 5:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.–6:00 a.m. Technicians must be willing to work any shift. Relocation is generally not paid.

Salary: $34.03 per hour, plus potential bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-speed packing, processing, and other automated machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and equipment monitoring.
• Analyze technical data and equipment trends to identify issues proactively.
• Reduce equipment downtime, eliminate defects, and improve production throughput and quality.
• Initiate and implement continuous improvement projects in a safe manufacturing environment.
• Build technical skills in other employees and collaborate within a self-directed operations team.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of technical experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Applied mechanical skills, including knowledge of engines, pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyors, gears, bearings, and related components.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments, plus knowledge of automation and pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, issue-resolution, and root-cause-analysis skills for mechanical issues.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, work at heights with fall protection, stand for extended periods, lift 50 pounds, and use appropriate PPE around strong odors.
