What you will do
- Oversee daily operations for earthwork projects and coordinate workforce, equipment, materials, and schedules.
- Manage lead personnel, field staff, subcontractors, and project-site performance.
- Lead safety activities, including hazard-awareness meetings, stretching sessions, toolbox topics, and corrective actions.
- Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, timecards, and documentation of safety incidents, damage, and injuries.
- Participate in pre-construction and job-site meetings and respond to customer, regulatory, and community inquiries.
- Inspect field work and materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, manufacturer documentation, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, policies, reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees, clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and business associates.
- Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone and apply practical mathematical concepts to field quantities.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required.
Nice to have
- OSHA 10-hour certification, OSHA 30-hour certification, HAZWOPER, excavating safety, blueprint, CPR, or First Aid training.
