Engineer VI - Engineering Manager (Railroad Bridge)

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and manage the railroad bridge engineering group for the Chicago office.
• Lead the technical railroad structures discipline team.
• Serve as the technical specialist for advanced concepts, principles, and methods used in railroad structural projects.
• Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering assignments.
• Monitor new developments and requirements and recommend changes to programs and applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• 10+ years of prior experience.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with email, text communication, and standard office applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) credentials in Illinois.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Established relationships with CTA, Metra, IDOT, CDOT, or the Illinois Tollway.
• Business development skills and in-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
• Membership or leadership in professional practice organizations, national boards, or technical and policy committees.
