Physical Therapist (Inpatient Acute Care) - Full Time

Location: Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite inpatient role; 40 hours per week, daytime schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with one weekend per month and occasional rotating weekend or holiday coverage.

Salary: $72,371.94–$90,464.92 per year, plus a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Evaluate, reassess, and treat pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general inpatient populations across varied diagnoses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, goals, therapeutic exercises, activities, modalities, and patient education programs.
• Assess pain and functional status, monitor treatment outcomes, and adjust plans of care as needed.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in medical records to support clinical communication and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams on safety, independence, and discharge planning.
• Participate in rounds, case conferences, quality improvement activities, department operations, and professional education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an approved physical therapy school.
• Current Physical Therapy license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to evaluate and treat patients across age groups and with acute or long-term disabilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, transfer patients, lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and perform manual treatment techniques.
