Senior Field Service Technician

Location: Portland, Maine, United States; field travel up to 75%, typically out of state Monday through Friday

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annual compensation, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Lead complex field engineering activities, including inspections, commissioning support, site assessments, measurements, audits, troubleshooting, and data collection.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, project managers, and field teams to meet project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational objectives.
• Operate and maintain environmental treatment equipment such as pumps, filters, tanks, pressure vessels, and other process units.
• Support shop and field fabrication, pilot testing setup, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct environmental sampling, monitoring, testing, chain-of-custody procedures, and regulatory sample handling.
• Document operational data, prepare daily field reports, handle hazardous materials safely, and follow OSHA and company safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, environmental monitoring, sampling, testing, and basic evaluation.
• Valid Class C driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for travel to project and job sites.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% and work occasional multi-week field operations assignments.
• Ability to complete and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and annual 8-hour refresher training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use Microsoft Office, communicate effectively, work independently, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice to have

• NFPA 70E training or willingness to complete it.
• Experience supervising construction projects or a background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Experience operating systems through PLC/SCADA.
• Associate’s degree in Environmental Studies or a technical certification.
