What you will do
- Perform financial accounting for assigned accounts and processes in accordance with statutory and GAAP standards.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, trial balances, financial statements, and analytical reports.
- Research and resolve reconciliation issues, imbalances, suspense items, and accounting system discrepancies.
- Analyze accounting systems and processes and lead or support improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop accounting, reporting, testing, and internal control requirements for system and process changes.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and maintain compliance with the NAIC Model Audit Rule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Experience applying statutory or GAAP accounting standards in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Fingerprinting and completion of required forms are required for the associated-person classification under NMIS guidelines.
- Non-registered fingerprinting under FINRA requirements.
Nice to have
- Public accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
